![]() MS hinted that the next release will be end of 2014 start of 15. Ls Retail, ExpandIT, and AFP are just now rolling out versions that are full function in RTC. We didn't do the upgrade t o13 so that we can make sure all our 3rd party add in's are ready to run in RTC. When we went 09r2 we made everyone change. Right now our Retail and accounting departments still use the classic client. Yes, if the version is actually more than 2 lifecycles old, then as Mealy says, treat it as a new deployment. ![]() Not having classic client in 2013 is something thats going to hurt us down the road when we upgrade. ![]() For an ERP I haven't seen one that is better designed, cheaper yes but never better. Personally our shop loves Nav, we have a great partner who we work well with (licensing allows them to make changes you can't). What I can say is depending on customization and 3rd party add in's the migration can be super easy or a nightmare. I would recommend looking at this as a new deployment since so much of the software has changed. (Admins still have the Object designer) This will add a training complexity with upgrading as well. In 13 the classic client is gone and only offers users the RTC environment. The upgrade tools are only designed to work with 2 versions back. Depending on what version you are on you might not have a clean migration path.
